Choosing a right career is always been a challenge for the most of the people. There are many institutions making big cash, just by career counseling. Why is it so hard to choose a career and become successful in it? If a person is dedicated to his work, then why is it hard to have success?

It is easy to become a successful person if your aim is the only success. You just need to be focused and follow the guidelines.

But my friend choosing a career and become successful is not everything. At the end of your life, you won’t be counting your success or accomplishment. You would be looking back to your past and question yourself “Do I live my life?” That day you will understand the true meaning of being here. That day, you will understand how much you really lived your life for yourself.

Well, according to me choosing a career means scheduling your whole life. Deciding how would you spend your rest of your life. Choosing a wrong career simply means losing yourself—who you are and living the life of others.

I think choosing a right career means choosing the right happiness package for rest of your life. Your whole life will be knitted around your career. This article is all about choosing a right career so that you won’t regret your 60s. [CAUTION!] If your concern is only about the success than you might regret after reading this [CAUTION!].

1) Never Look For Money

This is the most common and biggest mistake that we do while choosing a career. How much money can I make in this career? No doubt money is very important for living a good life. But money can’t give you a happy life and mental peace. It comes only with inner peace and inner peace comes with the satisfaction in what you do. So your work has a major role in your healthy living.

Speaking of money if you are good at anything then you can make money in every career. No doubt what do you choose. If you are good chatter than you can make money just by chatting with people. There are thousands of people making thousands of bucks just by chatting on youtube. If you are good at cracking jokes than you can make money out of it. There are numerous people doing pranks, stand-up comedy, making fun of politicians and making huge cash out of it.

So the bottom line is, you can make money in everything if you are good at it.

2) Never Ask For Career Options

You might not convince on my second point but I’ll explain here why? Let us assume Sachin Tendulkar went to Rishi Kapoor and ask about the career options. What could be the possible answers he would be had. Singer, musician, director, producer, scriptwriter, songwriter etc. because Rishi Kapoor is from the film industry. Now again Sachin Tendulkar went to Milkha Singh and ask the same question, what would be the answers? Splinter, Boxer, Swimmer, Tenis player, Cricket player, Hurdle racer etc. because Milkha Singh is on the sports field.

Nobody knows you better than you, you are the only one who knows your every secret. You are the only one who knows your strength and weakness. So you have to decide what are the things you are good at and make a list of those things.

3) Avoid False Praiser/Flatterer

These people are the biggest enemy of your life. No matter what you do they will always praise you. Although everybody wants to hear only good things about us. But sometimes you have to listen to bad things too. But how would you identify those people? Here is the tip, just do three-four random things and ask their views. If they end up with sweet lines just cross their name and never go for any suggestion in future. Yeah, you can go to them whenever you want to feel good about yourself.

I want to share my experience on this particular topic. When I was in 5th class I used to open toy cars, watch everything I found and turned it into crap. Few neighbor started calling me a scientist. I was so happy with the title that I opened up so many toys and wasted my huge pocket money. After a year I started painting and they started calling me an artist. Again I was so happy with the title that I made so many random paintings ignoring my homework. A few years later I started playing flute and keyboard, now they started calling me a musician. I screwed up my 11th and 12th. Probably if I had started to gamble and killed people, they must have praised me with the title of next Daud Ibrahim.

So beware of those flatterers.

4) Think & Listen To Your Inner Voice

This is your career, so you have to take the decision. There shouldn’t be the influence of other people. Think and ask yourself what do you want to be? What are you good at? Where do you find happiness? What are the things that you can do your whole life?

You will get the answer but it might take few days. You will be the one answering these questions so there would be no adulteration. Once you have these answer talk with your parents. Make them understand your vision, ask them for help. They will take care of necessary and important arrangements that you will need.

5) Consult With The Professional

Thinking and doing it in actual is two different things just like north and south. It is not necessary that if someone loves to eat pizza then the person will enjoy cooking it too. So basically you need to know what is it like in the real world. What are the different pros and cons of the particular profession? What, if you don’t like it when you started to work? There are lots of successful people, making a good money out of it but hate their job. There are people who changed their profession after wasting a good amount of money and precious time.

The best way to have proper knowledge is to talk with someone who is already in this field. Ask them about their job, ask them about the opportunities available. By doing so you will understand whether you have to go with your decision or have to think about other alternatives.

It might sound you challenging but trust me there is nothing more challenging than changing your profession after being a graduate in a wrong career field. So prevention is better than cure.

You can put your queries regarding your career, especially if you are studying at 9th to 12th. I will try my best to answer your queries.
